Situated in the south of the Ardennes mountain range, the Meuse is a region of marked seasons : in summer, the climate can be very hot (40°c is sometimes reached), while in winter, when the east wind blows, the temperatures can drop to -20°c under radious sunshine.
Landscape is green, with forests and prairies but with the constant presence of water : the Meuse river, ponds, streams.
It’s paradise for fisherman and hunters alike.
TLand of history and culture but also a land of battles, the village, whose construction dates after 1920, stands by a XI century church.
On the European scale, the north of the Meuse benefits from a very central location : less than 200 km from Brussels, it’s in theheart of a network of large cities spread throughout a radius of less than 150 km : Metz, Nancy, Luxembourg, Reims.
It also benefits from a vast network of communication routes. Through Sedan, it’s linked to the Belgian motorways, point of entry towards all the northern European countries and Great Britain. Dun-sur-Meuse is situated 40 km from the motorway entry at Sedan.
The Paris-Strasbourg motorway passes 10 km to the south of Verdun and allows reaching the capital in less than 3 hours, but also, through Metz or Toul, descending towards the south of France. The north of the region is characterised by its forests and prairies and by the ever-present Meuse river.
The villages resemble «postcard towns » nestling in verdant valleys.
The Meuse is a place of peace and quiet to see and to know. You’ll come to see, you’ll come back with pleasure !
